Sandra Brush

Obituary of Sandra W. Brush

Sandra Wike Brush, 75, of Rockledge, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2023.

Born in Taylorsville, North Carolina, on December 5, 1948, to Edd and Laura Wike, Sandra roamed the beautiful countryside with her sisters. She savored time spent in nature picking wild blackberries and rescuing tadpoles that had become stranded in puddles.

After moving to Florida, Sandra worked hard in school and was a proud graduate of Cocoa High School. She continued her studies at the University of Central Florida earning degrees in education. Sandra had a lifelong passion for teaching children. Her love of learning will always live on through the lives of the students she touched. Sandra spent 38 years as a teacher in Brevard County, starting her career at Anderson Elementary, before becoming a part of the “Fairglen Family.” She finished her career teaching alongside her daughter, Randi, at Atlantis.

Sandra loved a good adventure. The stories of her travels were some of her favorite memories. She enjoyed hiking in the mountains, cruising the rivers of Europe, and riding through the bush on African safaris surrounded by family. When she wasn’t travelling, Sandra was out enjoying Broadway shows, attending sporting events, sitting by the pool with a good book, or baking one of her legendary desserts.

Most importantly, Sandra loved her family wholeheartedly. She always put her family first and they knew it. Sandra adored every moment that she had with her husband of 52 years, Raymond. She was an incredible mother who never missed an important moment and supported her daughter through all the ups and downs of life. Her granddaughter, Riley, will always cherish memories of over-the-top birthday cakes, beating Grandma at card games, and hours of laughter from endless shenanigans.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Randi, and her husband, Jeremy. She is also survived by her beloved granddaughter, Riley. Additionally, she is survived by her sisters Donna (Nick) and Nancy (Steve); sisters-in-law, Sue and Susie; nieces Kristy, Tracy, Melissa, Kim and LeAnn; nephews, Steven and Kevin. Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents, Laura and Edd Wike; brothers-in-law Ken and Wayne.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Sandra and Ray request that you honor their memory by celebrating life. Take time to commemorate a milestone, plan a getaway with loved ones, or simply do something that brings you joy. Cheers, everyone!
