Obituary of Jane Power McMahon

Jane Power McMahon, age 101, died October 31, 2023 after a brief stay at West Melbourne Health and Rehabilitation Center, Florida.

 

Mrs. McMahon was born in Newton, Massachusetts, and grew up in Arlington, MA. After completing public and private school she was employed as the private secretary to the president of the Houghton Wool Company in Boston. Upon the return of her husband, Edward M. McMahon, from military service in Europe she moved back to Newton to raise a family. She was involved in many community activities including the PTA, the Cub Scouts, and the Boy Scouts. After her husband retired in 1979 they moved to Naples, FL and in 1993 to Indian River Colony Club in Viera, FL.

 

Her residence since 2012 has been Buena Vida Estates, West Melbourne, FL

 

While in Naples Mrs. McMahon was Chairperson of the Blood Bank Volunteers at the Naples Community Hospital, and in Viera was a Rolling Reader in the public schools.

 

She is survived by her three sons: Dr. Edward M. McMahon, Jr. of Seattle, WA; Paul J. McMahon, Esq. of Coral Gables, FL; Jeffrey J. McMahon of Hampton, VA,  their wives Rosanne, Peggy, and Carol, and five grandchildren: Paul, Sarajane, Virginia, Matthew and Jonathan.

 

No memorial service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Wounded Warriors Foundation. Burial will be at sea.
