Obituary of George Anthony Marschhauser

George Anthony Marschhauser, 84, of Viera, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on March 25, 2024. 

George was born on February 9th, 1940 in The Bronx, New York to Rosabelle McAvoy Marschhauser and George Anthony Marschhauser Sr.  After graduating from St. Simon Stock High School, he proudly served his country first as active duty in the Navy (Newman K Perry) alongside his brother, then 20+ years Reserves (USS Delong).  George worked for ConEdison, where he met the love of his life, his wife Rosemary.  George was a New York City Police Officer for over 13 years and during this time he took courses at John J College of Criminal Justice.  After retirement, he relocated his family to Florida. For over 20+ years he was actively involved in the Knights of Columbus (3746 Father Gabriel Council where he was the Grand Knight from 1994 – 1995). George was also very active in the 1013 (Association of Retired and Active NYPD) for over 20+ years.

George is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years Rosemary, loving daughter Denise of Melbourne Beach, FL, son Joseph of Miami, FL (son James was predeceased), brother Edward (Elizabeth), niece Linda, sister-in-law Nancy Bell (Terry), niece Danielle Overly, many friends and his four-legged fur baby Alexander.

There will be no calling hours or formal service. George will be laid to rest with gravesite services on Friday, April 5th at 11:30 am at Florida Memorial Gardens (5950 US-1 Rockledge, FL 32955). There will be a Celebration of Life scheduled for some time in June.
