In my 1961 graduating class at Leesville, LA High School, a boy named Richard Hobbs graduated with just the one year in our senior class.  He may have been from Oklahoma and he played football with us that year 1960.  I'd like to know if he is that boy.  Please contact me by email at

I am saddened to learn of Richard’s passing. I met him several years ago when he became a patient at our dental office. I was his dental hygienist. I always looked forward to seeing him, he was wonderful, witty and so sweet. We did go to his church one Christmas Eve....what an amazing organist. He always encouraged me to keep up with my piano lessons. Richard is greatly missed. A wonderful person. Heaven gained an angel.

Although we never met, Dick and I exchanged genealogy information over the past few years, being descendants of the same British ancestry. He was so helpful and willing to share what he knew of his grandfather's siblings, who were my grandfather's nieces and nephews.. Without Dick's help, I would never have been able to fill in the gaps in my grandfather's family from Massachusetts with the level of detail Dick provided.

Dick, thank you. I'll miss being able to share new genealogy information with you as I uncover it, but I promise to keep Tammy in the loop. Wishing you eternal peace.

Dick was a dedicated member of the Space Coast Chapter of The American Guild of Organists.  He served for several terms on the Executive Board as Dean, Sub Dean and, for the last several years, as Treasurer.  He was always cheerful and service-minded and was a cherished Board member.  I was lucky to have known you.  Rest in peace and love, Dick.
