Raymond Wescott, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at home in Cocoa Beach. He is survived by his wife Diane and children Tami and her husband Robert Weingarten, grandchildren Branson, Brock and Katerina of Carlisle, NY; Valerie and husband Kenny English, grandchildren Kyle, Kendra and Jessica of Cobleskill, NY; Dee and her husband Albro Fancher, grandchildren Connor and Rylee of Howe Cave, NY. Stepchildren Dan Rose of Johnstown, PA; Erica Rose of Cape Canaveral, FL.
He joined the US Air Force May 1, 1957, then until March 27, 1967, he began ad an Aircraft Systems Control Specialist. After only 2 years he was assigned as shift leader and remained a supervisor the rest of his career. Between March 27, 1967, and November 3, 1976, he continued in the Managerial Position at 4 Air Force Bases. November 3, 1976, to December 1978 he finished at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, NC where he was responsible for the orienting, training, supervision and evaluation of other managers and airman assigned to the Aircraft Environmental Control System Maintenance Section. Through all the years he worked hard and Retired as a Master Sergeant in Jan 1978. During his many years of Duty, he has received several honors. The greatest achievement of his was The Air Force Commendation Medal with First Oak Leak Cluster for Outstanding professional skill and meritorious service.
After retiring from the Air Force Ray worked as a Assistant Chief Engineer at Community Hospital and Nursing Home in Stanford, NY and as a Director of Plant Operations at University Heights Nursing Home in Albany, NY.
1980 he moved to Florida for a change of scenery. He started his long career as a member of the America Taekwondo Association, ATA, in 1986. During this time, he developed many skills and discipline to become a 4th Degree World Champion Black Belt. His career as a well-regarded instructor of many students in 2006.
He had many job titles in between each major event in his life, which include; Park Ranger at Manatee Hammock Campgrounds in Titusville, FL; Tax Advisor at H&R Block; Security Guard at Stonewood Towers in Cocoa Beach, FL
Raymond was an amazing man that lived life to his fullest, he will be sincerely loved and missed by many.
Funeral is being held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. Date is TBD.
