Obituary


MSGT James L. Gherman , USAF Retired went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 20,2021.
He was born on January 23, 1947 in Danville Kentucky.
Jim joined the Air Force in 1966 and served two tours of duty in Vietnam and Thailand. After leaving the Military for the first time he had many interesting careers including car salesman, North American Van Lines owner-operator and owned his own grocery store in WV. In 1981 he went to work for the US Government/Civil Service and enlisted in the USAF Reserves , going to war a second time in 2002 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. After completing 27+ years of service in the USAFR and Civil Service he retired in 2007 from Patrick Air Force Base. Jim was a member of the American Legion, VFW , Elks and the NRA. He was an avid golfer until recent years and loved playing golf at Cocoa Beach Country Club his "backyard".
Jim is survived by his wife Sonja, daughters Shanon, AnneMarie, and Amy. Grandchildren, Matthew, Jonathan, Alexander, Kyley Anne, Luke and Bradley, great-granddaughter Emma. Brother John and sister-in-law Brenda Gherman of Lewisburg WV along with many loving cousins nephews and nieces. He loved living in Cocoa Beach for the last 28 years and will be truly missed by his many friends and golfing buddies. 
 
A full Military Honor Service will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on February 11 at 2:30 PM
