Dorothy Mae Perry, Born:  January 31, 1934, Bellefontaine, OH

Died:  Sunday, January 19, 2020, Cocoa, FL at the age of 85.

Dorothy was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio to Harold and Mae Mustaine.  She spent a happy childhood there, graduating from Bellefontaine High School in 1952. She studied piano and was an accomplished pianist.  She spent most summers camping with her family.  Seeing most of the United States by car fostered her love of reading.

Dorothy married R. Flynn Perry November 26, 1954 and they moved to Virginia, where she served as a secretary for the Department of the Navy until the birth of their first child.  She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.  She and Flynn had three children:  Janelle, Skipp, and Jenna.

In 1966, the family moved to Pakse, Laos, where they spent almost five years.  Dorothy loved the people of Laos and Thailand.  She enjoyed the food and culture, having her clothes made at the local dressmaker and shopping at the street markets.

They returned to Virginia in 1970, where she continued as homemaker and had a part-time job at Sears.  After Flynn’s retirement in 1978, Flynn and Dorothy enjoyed their retirement years, first in Houma, then Downsville, Louisiana with land and horses, until Flynn’s death in 2003.  She and Flynn both enjoyed their grandchildren’s visits and great adventures on their property.  Dorothy was active in her local church and had many good friends.  She was also devoted to her son, Skipp, throughout his disability and death in 2017.  Dorothy continued to live in Downsville until June of 2019, when she moved to Cocoa, Florida with her daughter Jenna and son-in-law, Nelson.

Dorothy loved the Lord and is now rejoicing with Him and family members in heaven. Praise God!
