Obituary

Donald A. Forget, 79, of Rockledge, Florida passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 20, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.  He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Claire, and his daughter, Deanna of Rockledge, his brothers, Jerry and his wife, Donna, of Rockledge, Normand and his wife, Janice, of Wake Forest, NC, his sisters Evelyn Gomes and her husband, Art, of Stephens City, VA, Michelle Kurzenberger and her husband, Tom, of West Linn, OR.  Don was predeceased by his parents Normand and Bernadette Forget of Florida.

Don served in the U. S. Navy for 6 ½ years as an Engineman E4.  After Don’s honorable discharge, he worked as a diesel engine mechanic and then had a career as a truck driver for 30 years prior to retirement.  Most significantly, Don faithfully served Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior ever since he came to faith 11 years ago.  Don’s home church was Calvary Chapel Viera where he faithfully attended every opportunity he had.  Don served in Guest Services and the prison ministry, both very dear to his heart.  Don loved the Lord and he loved others.

Don’s celebration of life service will be held at Calvary Chapel Viera, 2852 Fellowship Place, Viera, FL 32940 on Friday, April 29th, at 10:00 a.m.  Dress is casual.  At 2:00 p.m., there will be a graveside service at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US Highway 1, LANE A, Scottsmoor, Florida.  All are welcome.

Claire would like to thank Health First Hospice for their excellent support and care for Don during the last 15 months of his life.  In lieu of flowers, Claire requests donations be made to:
