Arturo San Jose Tecson peacefully passed away on October 13, 2021, in the presence of his family, after a courageous 5-year battle with cancer. He was born in Manila, Philippines, on March 13, 1938, as the 4th of 11 children. Arturo received a Pre-Medical degree in 1957, and a Doctorate of Medicine in 1963, both from the University of Santo Tomas, in Manila. He was a surgeon with the Philippine Air Force from 1963 to 1975, including service in Vietnam. Arturo’s life-changing moment came in 1968 when he was stationed at Clark Air Base, and met Rosemary Kambic, a nurse with the U.S. Air Force. They married on July 24, 1971, and within 4 years, had a beautiful family of three children. Arturo’s desire to provide a better life for his children led him to move to the United States in 1975. He transitioned his medical career into psychiatry and worked for the Veterans Administration for 25 years, setting roots for his family in Hershey, Pennsylvania, where Arturo lived for 18 years, before moving to Nevada, and later Florida, to be closer to his grandchildren.
Arturo is lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Rosemary, his son Arturo and daughter-in-law Jennifer, son Michael and daughter-in-law Meghan, daughter Christina; and grandchildren Matthew, Timothy, and Emma.
