Rose H Marek

January 21, 1940 ~ April 29, 2017 (age 77)

Rose H. Marek went to be with the lord on April 29th, 2017 at age 77. She was a resident of Satellite Beach for 29 years. Rose was born January 21st 1940, in Lake Worth, Florida and was a 6th generation Floridian. She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell Hopkins and Irene John Hopkins and was raised in Jacksonville, Florida until  a career move in 1963 brought her to Brevard County, Florida.

Rose met her Spouse, Paul M. Marek in 1967 in Cocoa Beach and they were married on February 17th 1968 at St. Marks Episcopal Church in Cocoa, Florida. This marriage produced twin sons, born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1971, M. Todd Marek and P. Russell Marek. A third son, J. Adam Marek was born on their 10th wedding anniversary to the hour they took their wedding vows.  Paul and Rose adopted Sarah, in 1988 and she came to live with the family at age 17. Sarah Recently retired from the USMC. She and her Marine Corps husband, Jason Weischedel and two children Aiden Michael and Mary Elizabeth reside in Virginia. Sons, Todd, Russell and Adam all reside in Brevard County.

Rose and husband Paul are VA Certified Caregivers for their son Russell, US Army veteran (ret) who was severely wounded on his last mission in Iraq. Russ is a source of constant pride and inspiration to the family. Todd and Adam are always available to assist their brother and parents in caring for Russell.

Final arrangements are being provided by Beckman-Williamson at 5400 Village Dr., Viera, Fl. with a Visitation being held on Thursday,  May 11th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, after which Rose will be cremated. A memorial service will be held  the following day, Friday, May 12th at Faith Viera Lutheran Church  at 5550 Faith Dr., in Rockledge Florida at 11:00 AM. Rose’s ashes will be disposed by family, This summer, at a “Special Place” in Rose’s heart.

Rose requested that in lieu of flowers, a donation  benefiting the American Legion Post 81 in Melbourne  OR to the university of Central Florida benefiting a scholarship fund to help students pursuing a career in Physical Therapy, as the therapy their son Russell received after his life changing injuries, brought him from a quadriplegic to walking with canes today.
