Jerry F. Wagner

May 9, 1944 ~ June 9, 2018 (age 74)

Jerald (Jerry) Foard Wagner, passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 10, 2018 in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Born in Troutman, North Carolina on May 9, 1944 , Jerry attended college at The University of North Carolina. After graduation, Jerry began his career in the music industry in Atlanta at RCA Records. He quickly moved up the ranks and moved to New York City.  He held executive management positions at A & M Records, and AMPEX, where he was instrumental in developing its Record Division. He was very proud of his “Consultant” credit on the documentary film “Mother Teresa.”  After a distinguished career in the entertainment industry, Jerry moved to Newport, Rhode Island, where he enjoyed a good life of friends, travel, croquet, and the appreciation of the arts in the community.  In the 1990s, he co-founded SWA international, a Marketing and consulting firm, and served as its president for 17 years until his retirement.  A classic “snow bird”, Jerry never liked winters so he retired to Florida. Jerry’s family was his circle of friends with whom he remained very close for over 50 years.  His most cherished relationship was with his goddaughter, Carol Skriloff Starr of New Orleans, and her brother, Daniel Skriloff of Girdwood, Alaska.  His closest friends remember him as an extremely intelligent, charming, an independent thinker, and always a Southern Gentleman.   The date for a memorial will be announced at a later date.
