Frank Stojak, loving husband and father, passed away on January 1, 2020 at Viera Hospital. He was 95. Frank was born in Middletown, Connecticut on August 11, 1924. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He proudly served our county for four years, mostly in the Pacific, during World War II. In 1950, Frank and Beatrice Carta married in Portland, Connecticut. Thus began the legacy of Bea-Frank.
Frank retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, a United Technologies Company. His worked involved research with proto type jet engines. While engaged in his work he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. He loved his vocation and always said he never frowned about getting up each day to go to work.
After 31 years of employment, Frank and Bea retired to Palm City, Florida. They said moving to Florida was one of their best decisions ever. Another great decision was moving north to Melbourne, Florida where Frank enjoyed 17 more years living closer to family.
After retiring to Florida, Frank and Bea traveled extensively. They enjoyed 7 land tours and 27 cruises that visited 59 countries and territories. Many of their trips were with their sons and family.
When Frank resided in Connecticut, he was a member of the Catholic War Vets. He was a life member of the BPO Elks and Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the VFW in Melbourne.
He was preceded in death by his parents John Stojak and Agnes Frydryk. He was predeceased by seven of his siblings, Walter and Joseph Stojak, Vera Horowitz, Emily Chmielewski, Marie Waskiewitz, Rose Rogala and Lottie Gello. He leaves one sister, Teresa Krupa, his wife of 69 years, Beatrice Carta Stojak, and his sons, John Stojak and his wife, Susan, of Melbourne and Richard Stojak and his wife, Julia, of San Diego. He was predeceased by his son, Robert. He was a grandfather to Jason and Matthew Stojak of Connecticut and Dr. Kristen L.S. Repa of Henrietta, New York. He leaves three wonderful great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Viera Florida where a funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM. A repast will follow at the church center. There he will be remembered by many wonderful friends, service people and family members as the kind gentleman who gave dollar coins as a sign of affection to those he cared for. He will be laid to rest at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 12:30 PM.
Frank had a heart of gold, an incredible sense of faith, integrity, passion, strength and intellect. Frank was known for sharing insightful, practical and humorous quotes. He was considerate of others and truly made the world a better place. He was a true hero and our champion. His life was full, long, productive and perfectly well-lived. He left an incredible legacy and will always be remembered and missed.
