Viera, FL – Don McCormick, 71, formerly of Chateaugay and Loudonville, NY, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2018, at home in Viera, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Cindy;  their children, Amy of West Chester, PA, Brian and his wife Marianne of Franklin, MA, and Julie and her husband Jay Cristello of Melville, NY; their grandchildren, Kelly, Emma, Brendan, Megan, Jessica, and Justin; his siblings, Jack and his wife Judy of Chateaugay, Kay and her husband Bob Manley of West Islip, NY, and Arthur and his wife Evelyn of Chateaugay; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, Ed and Leona of Chateaugay.  He was a graduate of Chateaugay High School and Siena College.  He spent most of his career as the owner of Directions Unlimited, an advertising and consulting firm.  He was an active member of the Siena College Alumni Association and Saints Alive Advisory Council.  His past community and professional activities include being a coach/manager in the St. Francis/West Albany Little League, baseball umpire in the Albany, NY and Melbourne, FL areas, membership chairman of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce, president of the Sales & Marketing Executives (SME) of Eastern NY, NY State regional VP for SME International, board member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and board member & president of the Capital District Multiple Sclerosis Society.  He also created the College Selection Workshop and presented it to over 60,000 students, parents, and guidance counselors.  Friends are invited to call at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, 5400 Village Drive, Viera, on Sunday, June 24 from 2 to 4 pm or at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Latham, NY on Saturday, July 14, from 9:00 to 11:00 am, followed by the funeral mass at 11:00.  Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society of Melbourne, FL or Hospice of Health First of Melbourne, FL.
