Senior MSgt Jose Enrique Torres-Irizarry (Ret)March 6, 1937 ~ January 14, 2018 (age 80)
Jose “Pepo” Torres-Irizarry, 80, of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 14th, 2018 at home in Viera. Pepo is survived by his beautiful wife of 54 years, Ada, and their daughter Adaileen, Fuquay-Varina, NC, and grandsons Devin and Joshua; and their son David and his wife Karen, Yorktown, VA, and grandchildren David Jr, Marissa and Marc Anthony.
Pepo was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and grew up in the neighboring town of Adjuntas. He enlisted in the US Air Force at the young age of 17 in 1955. He had a distinguished career as a budget analyst and retired after 30 years as a Senior Master Sergeant. He continued his service to the USAF as a civil servant for an additional 16 years, retiring for good at Patrick AFB, FL, in 2001.
Pepo was beloved by his family and friends and known for always being there for everyone with a helping hand. He loved music and dancing, traveling the world, and playing dominoes, poker and bingo. Pepo was especially known for his love for his wife, Ada – fierce and everlasting.
There will be a wake held Friday, January 19th, from 6-8 pm at the Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Viera. His funeral mass will be at Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne at 1:30 pm the next day, Saturday, January 20th.
