Betty Elizabeth Testerman Hunter, 73 passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017, at her home in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She was born in Marion, Virginia on March 28, 1944 to the late Lacy and Pauline Sawyers Testerman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph E. Testerman, James M, Testerman, David R. Testerman and Thomas J. Testerman.
Betty proudly served her country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era and was stationed in Germany. She later met and married Chief Petty Officer George J. Hunter. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Timothy.
She received a degree and worked with school children in Norfolk, Virginia. After her husband was transferred to Patuxent Naval Air Station Maryland, she was employed by the federal government in several positions, including Commissary Bookkeeper, Housing Inspector, and Contract Clerk,
Betty moved to Florida after the death of her husband, and lived in Key Largo and finally settled in Cocoa Beach, where she spent the remainder of her life.
She was a good Christian and loved her family and friends. She was very friendly and welcoming to everyone she met. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all that knew her!
Family remaining to cherish her memory include her son Timothy G. Hunter, Kihel, Hawaii, grandson, Timothy Ryan, Homestead, Florida; sisters, Mary Ann Meyer, Merritt Island, Florida, Carolyn Harrison, Mechanicsville, Maryland, brothers; Marvin Testerman, Bridgeport, California, and Michael Testerman. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
