Christian Funerals

Pre-planning your Christian funeral or memorial service is one of the best ways to help your family during their difficult time of grief and loss. By leaving them specific information regarding your own personal desires for your funeral and burial, you will greatly ease your family's burden of making decisions and trying to guess what you would have wanted. This guide is designed to offer well-defined steps for pre-planning your Christian funeral service.

Benefits of Pre-planning a Christian Burial

  • You will be giving your family guidance and direction about the things that are most important to you for your own funeral service.
  • You will be helping to alleviate a great deal of the burden, stress, guilt and difficult decision making associated with planning a loved one's funeral.
  • You will save your family from over spending on options that do not reflect your wishes.
  • You will have the opportunity to carefully consider just how you would like to be remembered.
  • Prearrange your Funeral or Burial
  • Contact a funeral home and they will guide you through the process of pre-arranging your funeral and burial. You may even choose to prepay for your funeral to cover all of your funeral and burial expenses at today's cost.  Once you have done this, it is very important that you leave this specific information about pre-arrangements with at least one family member.
  • If you decide not to make pre-arrangements, you can still leave details regarding your wishes. It will help your family to know your preferences on the following:
    • Do you prefer a funeral home service or a church service?
    • Do you prefer a funeral or memorial service?
    • Will there be a wake or a viewing?
    • Will there be a grave side service?
    • Do you prefer open or closed casket during the service?
    • Do you prefer Burial or Cremation?
    • Where and how do you wish to be laid to rest?

  • Additional Choices:

    • Do you prefer to have a life video at service?
    • Do you prefer to have the service web cast for loved ones who will not be able to attend the service either by location or illness?

    Information About Your Life

It is very helpful to write down the important personal information about your life and your family history to aid your loved ones as they prepare the eulogy, an obituary and other funeral arrangements. Biographical information is so important to be on hand at the time of a death.  Always remember at the time of death the first stage of grief is shock.  When you write it down it is not forgotten!

    Your Funeral or Memorial Service

    Things to consider:

    • Who would you like to officiate your funeral service? Is there a pastor or minister you would like your family to contact? You may even want to ask the minister personally so that he or she is aware of your wishes, but be sure to inform your family members also, so they can contact him or her at the appropriate time.
    • Where would you like the service to be held?
    • Are there any special songs and music you would like to include in your service?
    • Are there any poems, stories, Bible verses, or readings you would like to include in your service?
    • Besides the minister, are there any other special speakers or singers you would like to participate in your service?
    • Who are the people you would to invite to your service?
    • Are there specific photos of yourself or your family you would like displayed during your service?
    • Is there a charity or a benefit you would recommend to mourners in lieu of sending flowers?

For your convenience to contact us, we have placed a “prearrangement form”, to be filled out.  If you do not want to fill out all the information, and only want more information just place your name, address, phone number, and email address and we will promptly respond to your questions.
